AmeriCorps VARO is committed to providing mentoring and homework assistance to improve academic performance and promote academic engagement among beneficiaries, facilitating service-learning opportunities to foster community service engagement; engaging with economically disadvantaged and at-risk individuals with career exploration activities, workplace readiness and soft skills training to improve their economic outlook and employability, financial literacy training to improve financial sustainability, and facilitating or assisting in community outreaches and projects to strengthen community awareness on the dynamics of violence and the available opportunities for personal and professional development through adverse life experiences.
